Journalism and Strategic Communication
Miami University 2024
I am a creative, driven, and collaborative professional with experience spanning journalism, strategic communication, and technology sales. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Miami University with a double major in Journalism and Strategic Communication (3.93 GPA), I began my career in SaaS as a Sales Development Representative at Oracle NetSuite in Austin, TX.
In this role, I have:
-
Generated $290K in qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting across mid-market accounts.
-
Achieved 100% quota attainment in Q4, creating 3 new sales opportunities by booking qualified discovery calls with executives.
-
Leveraged cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and multi-touch cadences to engage C-level decision-makers.
-
Partnered with Account Executives to uncover business pain points, position solutions, and accelerate deal cycles.
-
Earned recognition for resilience, competitive drive, and consistently surpassing daily/weekly activity metrics.
Before entering the tech space, I built a strong foundation in storytelling, client relations, and campaign strategy through a range of academic and professional experiences. As an Editorial Intern at TV Guide Magazine in New York City, I pitched and wrote articles published on TVInsider.com, conducted interviews, managed content in WordPress, and collaborated with the VP of Marketing to design advertising decks. My role required balancing creativity with professionalism while strengthening my media relations and communication abilities.
At Miami, I honed my leadership and strategy skills through both coursework and extracurricular involvement. I served as the Account Executive for a strategic communication capstone project, leading a campaign design for a local grocer by conducting market research, interviews, and presenting to the board. As a staff writer for the Oxford Observer, I produced bi-weekly AP-style news articles, strengthening my research and interviewing skills. In addition, I collaborated with peers in Pi Sigma Epsilon on a strategic campaign presented to Procter & Gamble executives and served as a College of Arts & Science Ambassador, representing the university at events and connecting with prospective students.
Throughout these experiences, I have consistently been recognized for my ability to connect with people, ask the right questions, and create compelling narratives—skills that now translate directly into my work in sales and my passion for customer success and marketing.
I am energized to continue my career growth in the tech industry, pursuing opportunities in sales, customer success, or product marketing where I can blend my competitive drive, communication expertise, and strategic mindset to create meaningful impact for both clients and teams.
